Sen. John Kerry Sued for Actions During Campaign!

From Human Events, Vietnam Vets File Lawsuit Against John Kerry by Michael P. Tremoglie. A lawsuit, filed in Philadelphia, claims that Senator John Kerry and Tony Podesta, Kerry’s Pennsylvania campaign manager, libeled, slandered, and caused financial harm to The Vietnam Veterans Legacy Foundation, Red, White, and Blue Productions, and Vietnam veteran and journalist Carlton Sherwood. The suit claims defendants sought to prevent the presentation of Sherwood’s documentary movie Stolen Honor: Wounds That Never Heal before the 2004 presidential election.

This may be the first time in American history that a presidential candidate was sued for actions taken by him and his campaign during an election. It may also be the first time that an antiwar activist was sued, if only tangentially, for allegations made about American military personnel.

Themoglie says, “…the heroes of Vietnam are finally condemning the lies told about them during the war.” (emphasis added)

  1. Holy cow! It’ll never go anywhere (most likely), but what a great story.

Why am I not surprised that I haven’t seen it anywhere else?
