Obama: Goal To Cut Deficit In Half

Obama: “We can’t generate sustained growth without getting our deficits under control.”

The Washington Post has a preview of Obama’s budget plan:

…this year’s deficit was projected by Congressional budget analysts to approach $1.2 trillion,… some analysts say the annual gap between federal spending and income could approach $2 trillion when the fiscal year ends in September.

Obama proposes to dramatically reduce those numbers by the end of his first term, cutting the deficit he inherited in half, … His budget plan would keep the deficit hovering near $1 trillion in 2010 and 2011, but shows it dropping to $533 billion in 2013 …

Let’s see, a deficit of $1.2  to 2.0 Trillion 2009, a deficit of $1.0 in 2010, a deficit of $1.0 Trillion in 2011 and a deficit of $533 Billion in his reelection year of 2012.  Why the interest on the debt of approximately $15 Trillion, by then alone, would be more that $533 Billion.  Who’s he trying to kid?

How does he propose to reach this goal of $533 Billion deficit?  He plans to cut spending and raise taxes…”primarily by raising taxes on business and the wealthy and by slashing spending on the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, administration officials said.”  In other words, he plans to make war on the producers and reward the losers in society.  The $75 billion mortgage protection plan that gives money to unqualified home buyers taken from those who pay their mortgages on time, is a sample of Obama’s proposed programs.

What was it that famous person said?  Oh that’s right,

“From Each According to His Ability, to Each According to His Need”

Karl Marx would be happy!

  1. I am glad that I don’t run our budget like he runs the country’s. He is not kidding anyone…..

  2. I’m not sure which was more disgraceful, Bill getting a BJ in the oval office from an intern or Hillary jumping into bed with the Chicoms just to so they’ll keep buying our debt…

  3. I thought this was fitting….

“You cannot legislate the poor into freedom by legislating the wealthy out of freedom. What one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving. The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else. When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them, and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that my dear friend, is the end of any nation. You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it.”
