Lara Logan To Appear On 60 Minutes

Chimpanzees get sad. They even laugh. We know this because Jane Goodall spent decades in the wild living and studying man’s closest animal relative. The 60 Minutes second story takes you to the forests of Tanzania to see Goodall’s chimpanzees. She knows them so well that she perfectly imitates their greetings, their cries – even their laughs. She tells Lara Logan that they are a species in serious decline due to habitat loss and poaching. Who would kill a chimpanzee? “Well, sometimes it’s bush meat and there’s still some of the live animal trade going, which means you shoot the mother to take the baby,” says Goodall.

“The Twelfth Imam” by Joel C. Rosenberg

I just downloaded to my Kindle “The Twelfth Imam” by Joel C. Rosenberg. I’ve read all the previous novels and have been waiting for this one to be released.

As the apocalyptic leaders of Iran call for the annihilation of Israel and the U.S., CIA operative David Shirazi is sent into Tehran with one objective: use all means necessary to disrupt Iran’s nuclear weapons program, without leaving American fingerprints and without triggering a regional war. At extreme personal risk, Shirazi executes his plan.
A native Farsi speaker whose family escaped from Iran in 1979, he couldn’t be better prepared for the mission. But none of his training has prepared Shirazi for what will happen next. An obscure religious cleric is suddenly hailed throughout the region as the Islamic messiah known as the Mahdi or the Twelfth Imam. News of his miracles, healings, signs, and wonders spreads like wildfire, as do rumors of a new and horrific war.
With the prophecy of the Twelfth Imam seemingly fulfilled, Iran’s military prepares to strike Israel and bring about the End of Days. Shirazi must take action to save his country and the world, but the clock is ticking.

Cotton Prices Set All-time High

Cotton for December delivery fell 5 cents to settle at $1.0987 a pound after hitting a record $1.1980 a pound.

It was the highest level for cotton since cash prices paid to farmers during the Civil War when blockades prevented shipments from leaving the South, said Sharon Johnson, a senior cotton analyst at Penson/FCG.

“As long as I’ve been involved in this I’ve never seen anything like this,” said Johnson, who has worked in the cotton market since the mid-1980s.
