Royal Canadian Mint Now Saying It’s Difficult Securing Silver

King World News interviews Dave Madge director of sales at the Royal Canadian Mint who acknowledges it is difficult to get supplies of Silver.

When asked what this means for the price of silver and how long this condition is expected to persist Madge stated, “I think you are going to see the premiums go up in order to secure silver.  At some point some players will be priced out of the market.  I don’t think this is a short-term situation, I think there are a lot of issues going forward and this may be the new norm.”

Obama Confident Oil Prices Will Stabilize

Mike Keefe The Denver Post

How the heck can he say this?

This is the second time in two days that this regime has opined on oil prices. Treasury Sec. Geithner said not to worry about oil prices, the economy has strengthened enough to handle the higher oil prices.

Are these guys serious or scared to death? I was told never to believe something until it’s officially denied. That means that oil prices are going much higher and we’re in deep weeds!

From Amazon

I have pre-ordered the latest Michael Connelly book “The Fifth Witness” due out April 5th. I believe I’ve read all of his books.

“Connelly’s compelling fourth legal thriller featuring Mickey Haller (after Reversal) finds the maverick L.A. lawyer who uses his Lincoln town car as an office specializing in “foreclosure defense.” Haller’s first foreclosure client, Lisa Trammel, is fighting hard to keep her home, maybe too hard.

Major Quake In Christ Church, NZ

This was a 6.3 magnitude quake and there are two aftershocks each measuring over 5.5. Some say this quake is worse than the 7.1 last year on Sept. 3rd.  One reason is that it’s shallowwe.

Here’s a blogging time line: http://www.nzherald.co.nz/nz/news/article.cfm?c_id=1&objectid=10707997

I was just wondering to Michael Hall, why with a full moon and a big solar hit to the planet, we hadn’t had any major earthquakes!

First Wisconsin, Next Michigan?

The Detroit News reports this about Detroit Public Schools.

State education officials have ordered Robert Bobb to immediately implement a financial restructuring plan that balances the district’s books by closing half of its schools, swelling high school class sizes to 60 students and consolidating operations.

There’s one key paragraph in the story that echos Wisconsin:

Last week, state Sen. Phil Pavlov, R-St. Clair Township, proposed a bill that would give the emergency financial manager the power to cancel government or teacher union contracts. Detroit Public Schools spends nearly two-thirds of its budget on personnel costs, or $677 million a year.

The days of affordable government are over!

Silver Backwardation Now 73 Cents!

Over at King World News, James Turk sees the backwardation move to an “Unprecedented 73 Cents!”

The backwardation in Silver he believes is a product of the lack of ready supply of the metal.  More troubling is the possibility  that investors don’t want to trade their physical for fiat currency.  In light of the 6 Charts Which Prove That Central Banks All Over The Globe Are Recklessly Printing Money, you can’t blame them a bit.

Then James Turk worries that if Gold goes into backwardation “…the implications for the US dollar, and indeed all of the fiat currencies in the world are ominous.”

Indeed!

In trading currently at 4:42 PM PST, Gold is up $2.70 to $1,409.30 and Silver is up $.24 to $34.16. It could be an interesting day tomorrow when markets open after the U.S. holiday.

April Crude Blows Out To New High

Libya: Colonel Gaddafi ‘flees’ to Venezuela

Amazing if true! The riots just started and now Gaddafi flees. Look for him to end in a coma like Mubarek and Ben Ali.

Maybe, his time ended when his military refused to fire on citizens from their jets.

Saudi Arabia are you watching? You may be next! And Iran…it can happen to you, also!
