When Does Life Begin?

Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-Fla.), chair of the Democratic National Committee, said Thursday that for states to enact constitutional amendments that say human life begins at conception is “an extreme and radical step.”
My, my! I’m an extremely radical person!

We had a terrible storm out here on the coast. Ripped the roof off the house, destroyed a lot of my equipment, tore off the upper deck and steps. Lost a lot of money.
The next summer, my youngest son and I set off to repair my house’s roof. He had recently graduated from High School, and was on his way to University. You and I both know, that you learn a lot about the guys you work with, when you work with them. Conversation is the pastime. You talk about things.
When we were up there, I asked him about life. “When does life begin?” He said, he was taught not to ask about such things.
The time he and I had spent together? Previously? I realized that the divorce had had greater impact than I had previously thought. His mother and I had been divorced during his time in K-12. I had never thought to ask about what he was being taught. I just wanted to make his time with me enjoyable.
What a moron. (Me.)
After twelve years of public education, he was either unable, or unwilling, to tell me when life began.
Science.
It’s settled.

TMI, great story.
