Capitalism 4.0
This world totally weirds me out at times. I talked with my friend Bill in Central Oregon Friday. I told him how much I was enjoying the book he so enthusiastically recommended to me, The Great Reflation: How Investors Can Profit From the New World of Money. “I’m highlighting sentences on almost every page.” Then Bill said I’ve got another book for you, Capitalism 4.0.
I went to Amazon.com and checked it out. It was priced at about $16.00 for Kindle and I have many books to read, so I passed for the time being. That should have been the end of the story.
This morning I’m working over some of my posts in August of 2006 and I came across this title, Who is Anatole Kaletsky?. Haven’t I seen that name before? Of course! He wrote Capitalism 4.0. Then I wondered if I’d posted about Kaletsky before. Sure enough in August of 2005, I posted John Maudlin Outside the Box
I immediately went to Amazon.com and ordered the book for my Kindle.
So who is Anatole Kaletsky?
Anatole Kaletsky is editor-at-large of The Times of London, where he writes a column on politics, economics, and international relations. Kaletsky was a full-time journalist for The Times, Financial Times, and The Economist from 1976 until 1998 when he expanded his activities to include economic forecasting and financial consulting.

I am not good at economic stuff. Most of your economic blogs I read and the information goes into my head but doesn’t remain long enough to even make good compost.
Financial terms are gibberish to me.
But….I have been reading and studying about George Soros. Why would a man who fled naziism and communism and became wealthy in a capitalistic country, turn so strongly against capitalism?
I decided, how can I judge when I don’t really know what capitalism is or why Soros thinks the way he does.
I need more books like I need more cherries, but I just ordered one of Soros’ books.
And now, you posted this, so, I have just ordered Capitalism 4.0.
Kaletsky is on the advisory board of the Institute for New Economic Thinking to which George Soros has pledged $50 million.
What these two men say, goes against what I believe, but their ideas might be what is ahead for us. Hopefully I will be able to understand some of it.
WO, I’m with you on George Soros. In Atlas Shrugged we met many men who voted against their own interests.
I’m worried, too worry about Kaletsky, but I will give him the benefit of the doubt until I read the book.
“but I will give him the benefit of the doubt until I read the book.”
That is what I decided about Soros.
When one reads what God has to say about money, I think he doesn’t care much for it.
Yet he expects us to be good stewards with it.
WO, please put the book down and back away. It will rot your brain! I hate it!
