Trail Blazers Fire Kevin Pritchard
Oregon Live has a nice interview of Jason Quick exploring the reasons behind the firing of GM Kevin Pritchard:

One reason hasn’t been mentioned. In the book “Fault Line” by Barry Eisler, which deals with high tech software and VC attorneys, there is a conversation about the desire to shepherd a deal. The lead attorney in the firm gives the okay with this comment:
“…if it doesn’t work out, it will show bad judgment.”
Bad judgment. At Sullivan, Greenwald, it was the ultimate, all purpose opprobrium. Anything that went wrong, even if it wasn’t the attorney’s fault, could be attributed to bad judgment. Because if the attorney had good judgment, he would have seen it coming no matter what. The bad thing wouldn’t have happened on his watch.
And what happened on Pritchard’s watch? My guess is Greg Oden/Kevin Durant happened. If Greg had just gotten hurt and missed work, that could be bad luck, but for Keven Durant to excel so much and almost get out of the first round against the hated Lakers, that is bad judgement! And to top it all, the Thunders coach wins coach of the year. Someone has to pay for all that bad judgment.
My guess is as good as anything I’ve seen, heard or read
