Mover Mike Hit 2,000,000

After an incredible June, Mover Mike hit 2,000,000 page views. I have been blogging since 2004 and it is nice to see that more people are finding this blog. Sometimes, I have considered quitting, thinking why bother, no one reads me. However, conservative fiscally, Libertarian socially, this blog joins many others who don’t like the path the U.S. is on.

No longer can we discuss things rationally and heatedly.  Now it seems the play book says to ignore the message, savage the messenger. We are seeing that currently with Trump and we read that Hillary hasn’t answered the press questions in two weeks. AND…more and more people are considering leaving the country.

Mexico”sends” their unemployed to the U.S.. How long will 93,000,000 unemployed and under employed wait to move south? How long will the drought stricken  in the south west wait to move? What happens when the U.S. becomes like Greece and can’t feed the 43,000,000 on EBT?

Stay tuned, dear reader. I hope to cover it and provide some answers. Thanks for reading Mover Mike

Thank You Trail Blazers

What a year for the Trail Blazers! We really enjoyed the team play, the fun and the last minute wins and losses, the threes, the acrobatic buckets by Lillard. LaMarcus as the man, Batum – Mr. Everything, Wes as the Ironman. I t was a great season. Thanks guys for a wonderful season.

Spurs Vs Blazers This Season

The Blazers have played the Spurs four times this season:

Nov 2, 2013 Spurs @ Portland Trail Blazers L 105 115
Jan 17, 2014 Spurs vs. Portland Trail Blazers L 100 109
Feb 19, 2014 Spurs @ Portland Trail Blazers W 111 109
Mar 12, 2014 Spurs vs. Portland Trail Blazers W 103 90

L and W are for the Spurs. We have each won on each other’s court. Starts tomorrow. Can’t wait.

Jack Ramsey R.I.P.

Terry Stotts idol died today, Jack Ramsey after a 15 year battle with cancer.

“The thing about Jack was he was ahead of his time with the concept that you can have great individual players on your team, but if that talent is not connected, you don’t have a chance,’’ Davis said. “Jack developed that within us, nurtured it within us starting in training camp and never wavered from that.

“It was always about the team, not the individual,’’ Davis said. “As great as players as Walton and Lucas were, no one was bigger than the team. No one. And that was his message to us: If we do it together, we can get it done.’’

Jason Collins Comes Out!

Jason Collins is the first player in the NBA to admit he’s gay. Who cares! How well has he played the game of basketball. Pretty darn well. Collins has appeared in “…two state high school championships, the NCAA Final Four and the Elite Eight, and nine playoffs in 12 NBA seasons.

Do I care what he does in his bedroom? Not one bit. In fact I don’t care what anyone does in their private moments.

I guess now we’ll find out that many more athletes and actors and ordinary people will come out. Good for them all. What a burden to have to act one way while feeling another.

I care more about their politics!

Blazers Get Some Needed Help

Blazers select Weber State’s Damian Lillard, a point guard, and Illinois’ Center Meyers Leonard with first-round picks.

Blazers Win!

The Associated Press

That was a great game last night.  The Blazers came out in the first quarter and scored 33 points, didn’t wilt in the fourth quarter and finished on a 30 to 12 run.  Canzano said they played like they hated the old coach.  I got all misty when everyone hugged Kaleb Canales, the new coach, and it looked like he had a shining tear on his cheek.

We’ve never expected perfection, just battle and work like you cared about the outcome.  We saw that against the best team in the east.

Nate McMillan Fired!

Wow, Nate McMillan gone from the Blazers, along with Marcus Camby and Gerald Wallace.

Isn’t it odd that the two players that the fans rewarded with chants, M a r c u s C a m b y!, M a r c u s C a m b y!, M a r c u s C a m b y! and , G e r a l d W a l l a c e!, G e r a l d W a l l a c e!, G e r a l d W a l l a c e! would be the first to go.

Can’t say I’m sorry about Nate. I’m sure he was a great guy, but it appeared he had lost his ability to get the team to play hard. Players fault, yada yada, but coach gets fired. That’s the way it is.

Portland Dominates Lakers and Google Trends

The score last night was Portland 107 to 96 for the 11th time out of the last 13 meetings here at home. Then on Google Trends at this moment something to do with Portland makes the list three out of 20 with news about Portlandia, LeMarcus Aldridge, and Portland Trail Blazers.

LeMarcus Aldridge is written about on ESPN, The Huffington Post and Bleacher Report

Did Vanessa Bryant File Divorce Papers?

So Vanessa Bryant stood by her man, Kobe Bryant, in 2003 when Kobe was accused of sexual assault.  What has it gotten her? She now finds out that Kobe has allegedly been cheating on her and she has had enough.

Carla DiBello is being linked to the NBA star as word begins to spread that his wife Vanessa Bryant has filed divorce papers. Just in time for the start of basketball!
