Rumors Of Rifts, Methane And Nuclear Devices In GOM

When you bring up the Gulf of Mexico and Deepwater Horizon, people I’ve talked to get a sick look on their face. We take green living seriously, but this blowout in the GOM has the potential to make all our efforts moot. In a way it’s like the guy who fixed our screen door. He said he started in 2001 installing metal screen doors. He saw his business grow by ten percent a year, then 2009 came along and, his business plunged 50% and he’s right back where he started. That’s why we look sick asked about the Gulf and soon that expression may change to outright anger.
We don’t know what’s going on down there. The MSM has been forbidden to go into the area and there are no pictures of the damage. Even politicians wanting to go in and inspect have been told to stay away. That’s led to all sorts of rumors concerning radiation in the oil and oil volcanos. We don’t even know how much oil is involved. We were initially told that the blowout was leaking 5,000 barrels of oil a day. Since then I’ve read estimates of as much as 100,000 barrels a day.
Now Helium.com is reporting that something is very wrong in the Gulf. There are reports of massive leaks of Methane. Methane is the major component of natural gas, about 87% by volume. At room temperature and standard pressure, methane is a colorless, odorless gas and extremely volatile and flammable.
Reports still indicate that methane is flooding the Gulf waters at a rate one million times more than normal, and the NOAA research vessel, Thomas Jefferson has reported spotting new fissures.
There is also the report that the blowout damaged the field and the released pressure has changed the gulf floor. Some report massive rifts in the floor:
Last week the science ship stunned some reporters with the revelation that the oceanographic team had discovered and measured a rift in the ocean floor miles from the BP wellhead. The rift was reported to be more than 100 feet long and widening. Oil and methane continues to plume from that rift.
BP has also admitted damage beneath the sea floor.
Helium.com is also reporting that BP engineers are considering a small nuclear device to close the hole.
The device …generates a high power electromagnetic pulse. It achieves this by using a powerful explosive, preferably nuclear. The nuclear driven device can instantaneously create up to billions of amperes and hundreds of terawatts. Such raw power exceeds lighting bolts by huge orders of magnitude.
The output from the device called an ‘explosively pumped flux compression generator’ (EPFCG). is hotter than the surface of the sun and will melt and fuse materials in nanoseconds.
I think it’s time this administration was transparent with us and told us what is happening. How will methane react if this EPFCG generates the kind of heat needed to seal the hole? Are Americans living along the coast from Texas to Florida in danger from the fumes of the oil spill? Will they be asked to evacuate in Florida? Tomorrow is the 85th day since the rig explosion. We need answers!

BTW, Jack Bog’s Blog has another view of what’s going on in the GOM.

Still very little mention of Transocean, the actual company that owns the drilling platform.
