Civil War Prediction
Last year I predicted that Oregon State would beat Oregon at Reser Stadium and go on to the Rose Bowl for a rematch with Penn State. As you know, Oregon beat Oregon State in one of OSU’s worst beatings ever. So it is with great humility that I predict the outcome of the Civil War again.
This time the Civil War will be fought for the Rose Bowl again. Never before have we had a matchup in which the winner will go to the Rose Bowl. The oddsmakers have Oregon as a ten-point favorite. The Oregonian has analyzed the backs and the quarterbacks and they are very close. By rights, since the game will be played at Autzen Stadium, home of the Ducks, they should be favored, BUT…I think their loss to Stanford is revealing. They could not stop the running of Stanford’s Toby Gerhart . Oregon State, you could argue, lost to Arizona early in the season, who the Ducks beat and lost to USC at USC who the Ducks beat at home.
I have charted college football upsets each week on this blog. So, long time Oregon State fan that I am, pick Oregon State to upset Oregon and go to the Rose Bowl to face Ohio State. Beating Ohio State may make up for the loss to Cincinatti early in the season.
It should be one helluva game. Both teams are very good. look for Oregon State to get on top early and hold on for the win.

Well, thanks to that link, I now know what Pgad stands for.
Doesn’t seem to have much to do with civil war football games, much less Oregon football games, but then, what do I know.
Like the title said, “learn something new everyday”.
WO, you lost me with the “Pgad” and all that followed???
Well, I clicked on the link in the first comment, thinking I was going to learn more about football. Civil war football. The state of Oregon football.
The big game that I am looking forward to watching tonight.
I don’t know who the Pgad sufferers will be rooting for.
Our family will be rooting for OSU so I hope your prediction is right.
