Study: Isabella Dam quake fault is active, very dangerous
When I posted The Kern Canyon Fault Is Alive!, I failed to mention the fault goes right under part the Isabella Dam and if active is capable of a quake on the order of 6.5 to 7.5. That’s as strong or stronger than the quake that struck Haiti. Scientists have monitored the levels of water behind the dam, but until recently didn’t think the fault active.
So what you say. “A map from the Corps of Engineers shows in the unlikely event of a major earthquake, if the dam were full, some Bakersfield homes could be under 30 feet of water.
