Printable Solar Cells

Back in 2007 I posted about Cheap, Printable Solar Cells. Here’s an update:

Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) researchers are the first to print a solar cell on paper, using organic nanoscale semiconductor material and inkjet-like printer technology, at their newly formed Eni-MIT Solar Frontiers Research Center.
MIT used carbon-based dyes to make 1.5–2% efficient cells, much less than regular polycrystalline solar cells but they hope to improve the efficiency.
