How Edwards Spends His Money
Reading the sordid tale about John Edwards, I was struck by how out of the mainstream these people are. The NY Post quotes the National Enquirer:
Edwards lied to ABC when he said he did not know his former national finance chairman was funneling a reported $15,000 per month to Hunter, the newspaper said.
You read that right $15,000 per month!
Then the story goes on, again quoting the Enquirer:
Former chairman Fred Baron reportedly also is paying $20,000 per month to Andrew Young, the married Edwards campaign official who claims he fathered Frances.
My calculator is now at $35,000 per month!
Continuing,
Two days before admitting to the affair Friday, Edwards told Hunter to leave the country, and she agreed - hopping a chartered Lear jet flight to a secret location on a trip that cost $50,000, the paper reports.
There’s the rub, a chartered jet! Bev and I went to Mazatlan last year for a week. Airfare, resort, food and even the purchase of a timeshare didn’t come to a third of $50,000.
I think one requirement for any presidential candidate is to live like the majority of us for a week. Maybe, we could get our government spending under control.

I also find it hard to believe the part about not knowing where large sums of money went or to whom they went. Folks who have figured out how to accumulate wealth do so by knowing where and how money is spent with great discipline or they soon find they have no wealth. In this case it would appear a smoke screen has been used to cover up sordid life style in order to keep the public in the dark.
