Saab R.I.P.

Car maker Saab ran out of time Monday when its Dutch owner filed for bankruptcy, calling time on a nine-month battle to rescue the struggling Swedish marque.
The end of the road for Saab, which has been making cars for more than 60 years, came at the weekend when General Motors again vetoed a plan involving Chinese investor Zhejiang Youngman Lotus Automobile.
After two Miatas, we bought a 1999 Saab 9-3 convertible, like the one above. I’ve enjoyed driving the car on road trips and would have bought another, but not now. My allegiance will flip to BMWs or Audis. Sorry to see you go, Saab.
