“C. Norman “Norm” Winningstad, a technology pioneer and philanthropist in Oregon’s Silicon Forest, died today at his Newport home. He was 85. ”
“Norm will be forever remembered as the grandfather of technology here in Oregon, and his contributions and legacy will be realized for generations,” Gov. Kulongowski governor wrote.
If you take a look at the tree of high tech in Oregon. It all flows from Tektronix and Winningstad was a big part of the growth.
