Chronicles Of The Yellow Bus

Right where NW Germantown Road meets NW Old Germantown Road going east, is a sign that says, “Everyman’s Dream Building.” It is described as 3,200 square feet, with cement floors and 21 foot ceilings. From the outside it looks like a red barn in a rural setting. I’m sure there is an abundance of deer to attract your attention.
I got to thinking about the word “Everyman’s”. Is this really everyman’s dream building. That would be the first extreme bipartisan agreement on what constitutes a dream building. I’m afraid not! It got me to thinking about my definition of a dream building and it isn’t this building.
My dream building sits by the sea in a warm climate under palm trees. A trimaran float at the dock ready to take us snorkeling. All the windows and doors are open to the gentle breeze. There is the smell of Oleander and sun lotion in the air. I have wifi internet connection and I can cover the world from my location.
My wife and I have a great kitchen where we concoct recipes of rice and fish dishes and every evening we eat dinner under the stars. No one lives next door. I don’t hear squalling kids fighting their parents over bed time or tiffs between husbands and wives. I have room for guests to stay the night.
That’s my dream building and it’s probably one third the size of the NW building.
